Meet the Farmers

Journey Farm

Loretta Clayson

Journey Farm is located in Kanab. Our goal is to grow flowers to ease the mind, feed the soul, refresh the spirit, and gladden the heart. The sight, smell, and feel of flowers can trigger a pleasant memory or elicit positive feelings. Spending time outdoors is beneficial for wellness but is not always easy to do. Flowers are a convenient way to experience a little nature indoors.

We offer wholesale to florists and designers, bulk DIY flowers, bouquet subscriptions, and florals for hospitality businesses and professional offices. We also do workshops, scheduled U-picks, and special on-farm events.
Journey Farm continues to evolve/expand our grow list and acreage. We have built high tunnels to extend our ranunculus and dahlia seasons and other structures to facilitate our winter tulip-forcing operation. We use earth/people/animal-friendly methods for safety and sustainability, and no-till practices to build healthier soil.

Freckle & Flower Farm

Kaydee Emmett

Freckle & Flower Farm is located in Enterprise. Kaydee has always loved gardening, several years ago she planted a single row of cut flowers in her veggie garden to encourage pollinators and she fell in love. Over the years, the flowers took over the veggie garden and has now expanded to over an acre of flowers and it just keeps growing.

You can find our flowers at the Downtown Farmers Market in St. George or at the weekday Flower Market put on by the Southern Utah Flower Collective. We offer delivery to the St George and Cedar City area and have a subscription service as well. In our off season we offer on farm workshops including wreath workshops, indoor bulb gardens and terrariums.

Fowles Floral

Kaycee Fowles

Located in Panguitch, Utah my tiny farm has a very short growing season. If I'm lucky I might get 75 frost free days, but some years it freezes every month of the year! This has lead me to growing mostly in high tunnels. Beginning with a single tunnel of only 500 square feet in 2018, I have been able to expand to two larger tunnels and just over 2000 square feet. I'm so grateful for the connection I have to my flowers and that connection that I am able to pass on to my customers.

Even as a little girl, I was drawn to flowers and gardening. This lead me to a degree in Horticulture from Utah State and now to my own full service flower shop and flower farm. The flowers I grow are mostly used by my own shop for weddings, events, and to fill flower orders and a retail flower cooler. I love being able to provide my customers with the freshest flowers available, often being cut the very same day they reach the customer. I am excited to get to share the beauty of local flowers with other florists.

Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard

Dayla Ulrich

Sweet Pea Farm and Orchard is in Parowan and was established in 2014, by a first generation farmer, with the hopes of providing the community with healthy delicious food, seasonal flowers and an inviting space to connect with others and enjoy the beauty. Edge to edge, the land is filled with hundreds of varieties of heirloom and specifically chosen hybrid vegetables, herbs and a growing selection of flowers and fruits. Hidden in the back is a rambunctious beehive that has worked hard for years pollinating the fields and greenhouses. We make the best out of our short season in the high dessert by using greenhouses and as many reasonable season extension tools as feasible. Each summer we work hard to create amazing events that provide an opportunity for the community to spend time enjoying the beauty and engaging with the farmers and each other.

We grow an increasing number of flower varieties each year and continue to learn what will work in our unique climate. We currently focus most of our energy on summer annuals but have been increasing our area of perennial and spring season flowers.
